Vita
Maria Wiedner is a board certified Plastic Surgeon working with Dr. Dirk F. Richter from the Dreifaltigkeits-Krankenhaus in Wesseling in her office in Cologne. She was formerly head of the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Malteser Krankenhaus in Bonn, Germany.
After Medical Graduation 2004 in Graz, Austria, Maria Wiedner trained at the Medical Universities in Vienna, Innsbruck and Graz. She worked as Consultant at the University Clinic in Graz for another three years before she moved to Bonn, Germany.
After an intense training in all fields of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery she set her focus on Body Contouring and Breast Surgery.
Maria Wiedner is active member of of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the largest society of board certified plastic surgeons in the world as well as of the Austrian and German Societiy for Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. She published many peer reviewed articles and book chapters and is regularly invited as speaker at international meetings.
As Chair of the Residents&Fellows Committee of ISAPS she established the ‘Visit an ISAPS expert’ and ‘ISAPS mentoring’ programs for Residents, Fellows and Associate members of this society, which is now open also for trainees. She is happy to promote the chance of participating in this great society from the beginning of a plastic surgery career. With her work in the Women's Committee of ISAPS she wants to share her experience as head of a surgical department with other women, to enhance their skills in leadership and learn from each other.
